Me being me I can never let my spots go away naturally, I'm always unnecessarily squeezing them, which then leads to dark marks/scars being left in concentrated areas. Sometimes I let them disappear on their own but this takes a while and I really do not have the patience.
So my mum introduced me to the Superdrug skincare brand called B. and one product that she (and I now) swear by is the Glycolic Cleansing Peel.
Now some may think,
"you're putting acid on your skin?"
And the answer is yes. Glycolic acid is a natural ingredient extracted from sugar cane, but in some cases it is made synthetically. Gylcolic acid is apart of the AHA's or in other words the Alpha Hydroxy Acids, which also contain acids such as Lactic (milk), Citric (lemons etc.), Malic (apples) and Tartaric (grapes).Glycolic acid is the most common and safest to use out of the acids in that group.
What does the Glycolic Acid Peel do?
Glycolic acid acts as an exfoliant. It helps to remove the dead layer of skin, which then reveals the newer layer and leaves your skin looking brighter, refreshed and glowing. Which is exactly why I love the B. Cleansing Peel.
After using the Peel (2-3 times a week and left on for 2-3 minutes) the dark marks caused by my over spot squeeing had faded and my skin was back to being, looking and feeling, soft, healthy, glowing and evenly toned.
It doesn't "peel" like it says on the tube. It's more of a mask consistency. I highly recommend this product due to the results I got.
